Blue Moon - Fred Gayhart

Fred Gayhart writes most of the horn arrangements for BLUE MOON and has several of his compositions on our soon to be released CD. He was raised in Sonoma County and became one of the youngest members of the musician's union at the tender age of 16. He was a music major in college and upon graduation joined the Air Force Band where he played from 1964-1967. Upon leaving the air force, Fred attended Berklee School of Music in Boston where he studied saxophone with Joseph Viola. Fred returned to Sonoma County in 1970.

Fred is an accomplished saxophone player and has performed with such artists as Frank Sinatra Jr., Bobby Bryant, Mel Martin, and Jerry Garcia. He has performed most recently with the groups, Let's Dance, The Keynotes, and of course, Blue Moon.
